In His Arms

Harsheeta

I came home, someone was seated in the living room. A family. For my rishta. Goddd my family.

I didn't look at them, i straight went to my room, but my a voice stopped me, my dad's,“Harsheeta, get changed and come.”

I turned and looked at him, and sat on the sofa, not caring about my clothes or my appearance.

“bola, pappa.”

[ Say, dad.]

The man asked my dad,“she's your daughter?”

“yes, I'm his daughter.” i said allmost rudely.

The older lady, probably the man's wife, chimes in, “ beta, kaha se aa rahi ho?”

“Hospital se.” i said Coldly.

“Baat kar sakte hai na hum?” the boy, probably the one who's going to get married asked me.

“ji, kahiye, kya baat karni hai.” my face expressionless.

“khana bana leti ho?”, the old lady chimes in, again.

My patience snapped,“ji nahi, mujhe ghar ke koi kaam nahi aate, na khana bana, na jadhu pocha karna, kuch nahi.” i said rudely.

“koi na, shaadi ke baad sikh lena.” the boy, said. Trying to control the situation.

“ji nahi, shaadi ke baad mein koi kaam karungi, ye sochna bhi mat.” i said almost rudely, sweet poison dripping from my voice.

The man said to my dad,“Rakhundeji aapki beti kese baat kar rahi hai.”

My patience snapped again, I got up from my seat, and almost shouted,“mein yeh shaadi nahi karungi, aap please jayiye.”

The man again tried to say,“aapki bati hamara aapman kar rahi hai–”

I shouted,“haa, kar rahi hoon mein, ab jayiye”

The family got up, and went towards the door and left.

My dad turned towards me, and slapped me, hard.

My eyes filled with water, I ran into my room, and threw my doctor's coat on the couch in my room. I locked the door, and opened my cupboard, I chose a nightdress.

I slipped into my night dress, and almost threw myself in the bed, and in no time, my eyes closed and I slept.

I woke up, when my mother knocked on the door. I woke up and opened the door.

My mother gave me an invitation card,“beta, yeh card aaya hai, kisi Devendra Singhania me bheja hai, kaun hai yeh?” she asked almost suspiciously.

“Devendra Singhania, hospital ke investor hai woh.”

I took the card, and opened it, an invitation, a black card, golden letters on it looked like it was carved, a party is being held at Singhania mansion on the occasion of their 100th anniversary, and I was invited.

I kept the card in the table. My mother asked me,“what is it?”

“kahich nahi, party aahe tar bolavla aahe.” i answered her question in flat voice.

[Nothing, there's a party so they invited me.]

I'm not going to ANY party now.

My mother's face almost lit up,“ jaa na tar mag, mi tujhe kapde kadhun thevil, ani aaj tu je tamasha kela na, tya nantar nahi nako manhu.”

[ Then you should go, I'll pick your outfit, and after what you did today, don't say no.]

My face frowned,“aai, mi nahi challi, majha dimag kharab aahe.

[Mom, I'm not going, my head's already messed up]

My mom then quickly said,“they are our investors, you should go and anyways, party is in two days, you'll go, and I'm not requesting, I'm telling you.”

She said and left the room.

I frowned and threw my hands in air. Goddd.

Wait, Devendra Singhania, ohhh damn, realisation dawn into me, today in hospital, the man, that man was Devendra Singhania, and that chirkut, must be his son....

Fuck, I called him chirkut.

Bhagwan, vachav mala...

[Ohh God, save me]

I'll have to go, and apologize to him, cause maybe he's going to be the future CEO of Singhania group companies.

In party

I entered the huge, massive ballroom, it wasn't a ballroom, it was living room of Singhania mansion. God, it's too big. I scanned the crowd for familiar faces, but then my eyes, landed on him, he was in corridor in tailored black suit, looking like perfect CEO.

His watch sitting perfectly on his wrist. His eyes, looking fierce, before I could see him properly, a lady pulled me into a hug, the same lady in hospital, maybe Devendra Singhania's wife.

“Hello, mam.” I greeted the lady.

“aree beta, don't be so formal.” she said, she smiled.

We were talking about my hospital when that chirkut came, and the lady introduced me to him,“Dr. Harsheeta, meet my son, Reyansh Singhania.”

Reyansh Singhania, why does he have the name that I love?!

He greeted,“hi mrs. Harsheeta”

What?! Is he mad?

I said,“i'm not married, call me ms. Not mrs.”

He said,“but you're going to.”

What?

“i'm not going to get married” i said as if I hated marriage, which I do.

Later.

I was talking to one of my investor, when I leaned against the table, cause my vision blurred. I regained my senses. I tried to stood up, but everything went black, and I lost my balance but someone held me, one hand on my wrist and one on my waist, too close.

Reyansh Singhania.

He said flirtatiously,“fire, don't lose your senses by looking at me.”

He's flirting, damn this guy.

I regained my senses, I needed his support to stand.

He made me sit on a chair beside the table, which he pulled and held a glass of water against my lips, I didn't drink it. Of course i won't. He forced it, pressed it again my lips harder, and reluctantly I drank it.

“are you fine, fire?” he asked as if he cared.

“don't call me that.” i said, not answering his question.

“i asked something, are you fine?” he said, he's voice cold.

My vision blurred again, and i continuous ringing sound started to ring in my ears and I don't know what I said.

He asked me to take rest in room, which i refused then he asked to drop me but i lied that my friend is coming to pick me up.

His mother interrupted and said him to take me to his room.

And the next second, I was in his arms. I was in his arms. Everyone was looking at him, but he didn't care, neither did I.

I was in his arms, my arms instinctively wrapped around his neck, my vision started to fade again, I needed to rest my head on his shoulder for support.

He long strides covering the distance fast, he kicked open the door and went inside the room, he laid me on the bed and gave me water to drink, I needed water, I took the glass and gulped down the water in one go.

“rest, and tell your friend not to come.” he said.

I opened my mouth to argue, but couldn't.

“Fire, rest, you need rest, and now you're in my house, so follow my orders.” he said authoritatively.

I wanted to argue, but I felt so helpless.

He stared at me, his eyes looking through my soul, my eyes scanned the room, looking everywhere but him.

His intense eyes bore into me, I couldn't ignore his stare, he lifted his hands and put it under my chin, lifting my chin to meet his gaze, his voice low and intimate,“keep your eyes on me, fire.”

Did he just call me fire?! Why? Ohh God this man...

He's so close to me, so close, our nose almost touching each other, my eyes momentarily went to his lips.

And he noticed it, he chuckled,“ohh, fire, can't even control yourself, huh?”

“Shut up, Mr. Singhania.” i shouted despite my condition.

“That's why I call you fire.”he said, so casually as if he did nothing.

He pulled back, i didn't wanted him to.

He looked into my eyes, and that's the last thing i remember before passing out.
